Practical answers institutions ask before rolling this out.
Can Chatwoot support multiple campuses?
Yes. Create an inbox per campus or department, with its own business hours, canned responses in the local language, and its own team.
Do you support SSO?
Yes, for staff accounts. SSO and SAML sign-in for agents and administrators is available on the Enterprise plan on cloud, or on self-hosted Enterprise Edition. Chatwoot does not authenticate students or alumni, they simply message you on any channel.
How does Chatwoot handle multiple languages?
Captain Copilot helps agents translate and improve replies, automation rules can route on the browser language of the contact, and you can keep canned responses per language so advisors stay consistent. The help center supports multilingual articles.
Can we separate admissions, IT, and bursar requests?
Yes. Use separate inboxes and teams, automation rules and labels per queue, route on pre-chat form fields, and keep private notes visible only to staff. Teams, automation rules, and SLA policies are on the Business and Enterprise plans.
How do you protect student data?
Restrict access with roles and permissions and per-inbox membership. Audit logs, available on the Enterprise plan, record user activity, sign-in and security events, and configuration changes with IP address and timestamp, while assignments, labels, and status changes stay visible in the conversation itself.
