Send a campaign in three steps
Choose who, what, and when on one page.
Choose who gets it
Pick one or more labels, such as VIP customers or newsletter subscribers. You see how many people will get the message before you send it, and nobody gets it twice.Write it once, make it personal
Start from a message WhatsApp has already approved for your business. Each customer's name and other details are filled in for you, and you see the message the way they will.Pick the time
Send at the moment that suits your customers. You can change the audience, the message, or the time until sending starts.See who got your message and who read it
Each campaign has its own results page. Watch it fill in while messages go out, then check who the message did not reach and why.
- See how many messages were delivered, how many were read, and how many failed.
- Follow the numbers live while the campaign is sending.
- Find out why a message did not arrive, for example a phone number that is not on WhatsApp.
- Open any customer from the list to follow up with them.
Campaign analytics is included on Business and Enterprise.
Replies come straight to your team
A campaign starts conversations. When customers write back, their replies land in your WhatsApp inbox, and your team can see which message they are answering.
- The campaign message shows in the chat, with when it was sent and whether it was read.
- Replies reach the right teammate, the same way your other WhatsApp chats do.
- Captain, Chatwoot's AI agent, can answer common questions or suggest a reply.
- On Business and Enterprise, admins can open a campaign's results from the message.

What teams ask before they send their first campaign.
What do I need to send WhatsApp campaigns from Chatwoot?
You need a WhatsApp Business number connected to Chatwoot through the WhatsApp Cloud API, and at least one message template approved by WhatsApp. WhatsApp campaigns are included on the Startups, Business, and Enterprise cloud plans.
Can I write any message I want in a WhatsApp campaign?
No, a WhatsApp campaign sends a message that WhatsApp has approved in advance, called a template. WhatsApp requires this whenever a business messages a customer first. Once the customer replies, your team can write back freely in the chat.
How do I choose who receives a WhatsApp campaign?
You choose one or more contact labels. Everyone with at least one of those labels gets the message once, and you can review the list before you schedule the campaign.
Can I edit or reschedule a WhatsApp campaign?
Yes, you can change a scheduled campaign until it starts sending. That includes its name, audience, message, and send time. Once a campaign is sending or finished, it can no longer be changed.
What do the delivery statuses in campaign analytics mean?
Submitted means WhatsApp accepted the message. Delivered means it reached the customer's phone, and read means they opened it. Failed means WhatsApp could not deliver it. Skipped means Chatwoot did not send it, usually because the phone number was missing or wrong.
Which plans include WhatsApp campaign analytics?
WhatsApp campaign analytics is included on the Business and Enterprise cloud plans. Teams on Startups can send WhatsApp campaigns and upgrade to see who received and read each message.
What happens when a customer replies to a campaign?
The reply shows up in your WhatsApp inbox like any other chat, so the right teammate or Captain can answer it. Campaign messages sent during a conversation appear in that conversation, so your team knows what the customer received.
