See Stripe billing details in every support conversation
Connect Stripe to Chatwoot and your agents see each customer's subscriptions and recent invoices in the conversation sidebar. Answer billing questions without opening the Stripe dashboard.
Billing context where your agents already work
What an agent needs to answer a billing question, next to the conversation.
Match every contact to the right Stripe customer
Chatwoot looks up Stripe customers using the contact's email address. When more than one customer shares that email, agents choose the right one from the sidebar.
- Automatic lookup by contact email
- Pick the right customer when several share an email
- Customer name and email at the top of the panel
- A prompt to add an email when a contact has none
Check plans, status and renewal dates
The sidebar lists the customer's latest five subscriptions with plan names, prices and status. Open one to see the billing period, when a trial ends and whether a cancellation is scheduled.
- Latest five subscriptions with plan name and price
- Status at a glance: active, trialing, past due or canceled
- Billing period start and renewal dates
- Trial end dates and scheduled cancellations
See recent invoices and whether they're paid
Recent invoices appear below the subscriptions with their number, date, amount and status, so agents can confirm a charge or spot an open invoice before they reply.
- The customer's five most recent invoices
- Invoice number, date and total
- Paid, open and uncollectible statuses
- Amounts in the invoice's own currency
Connect Stripe in three steps
An administrator connects your Stripe account once. After that, every agent sees billing details in conversations with contacts who have an email address.
- Secure OAuth connection to your Stripe account
- Read-only access to customers, subscriptions, products and invoices
- Disconnect from Chatwoot at any time
- Available on Chatwoot Cloud and self-hosted
Stripe integration, answered
What support teams ask before they connect Stripe.
Can agents change subscriptions or issue refunds from Chatwoot?
No. The Stripe integration is read-only. Chatwoot can read customers, subscriptions, products and invoices, but it cannot create charges, issue refunds or change a subscription. Make those changes in Stripe.
How does Chatwoot find the right Stripe customer?
Chatwoot searches Stripe for customers whose email matches the contact's email address. If several customers match, agents pick the right one from a list in the sidebar.
What happens if a contact has no email address?
The Stripe panel asks the agent to add an email to the contact. Once the contact has an email that matches a Stripe customer, the subscriptions and invoices load in the sidebar.
Which subscriptions and invoices does the sidebar show?
It shows the customer's five most recent subscriptions in any status and their five most recent invoices. Open a subscription to see its billing period, trial end date and any scheduled cancellation.
Does the Stripe integration work with self-hosted Chatwoot?
Yes. On Chatwoot Cloud, you connect from Settings → Integrations → Stripe. A self-hosted installation needs its own Stripe app first: an administrator adds the app's authorization link and secret key in Super Admin and enables the integration for the account.
How do I disconnect Stripe?
Open Settings → Integrations → Stripe and disconnect. This removes the saved credentials from Chatwoot. To revoke access on the Stripe side as well, uninstall the Chatwoot app in your Stripe dashboard.
