Inactivity handling and custom tools now belong to each assistant, you can switch scenarios and tools on or off, and the playground lets you test changes before you save them.\u003C/p>\u003Ch2 id=\"choose-what-happens-when-a-customer-stops-replying\">Choose what happens when a customer stops replying\u003C/h2>\u003Cp>Each assistant now has a \u003Cstrong>When customers stop replying\u003C/strong> section under System settings. You can pick one of three options.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Let Captain review it (recommended).\u003C/strong> After the time you set, Captain reads the conversation and decides whether to resolve it or hand it off to your team.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Always resolve.\u003C/strong> Captain resolves every conversation after the time you set, without reviewing it. Chatwoot shows a warning here, since some conversations that still need help may be closed.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Wait for the customer.\u003C/strong> Captain leaves the conversation pending until the customer replies. It can still hand off if the customer asks.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>You can set the timer in hours and minutes, and choose whether Captain sends a closing message when it resolves a conversation.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Your assistants start with the same setting your account used before, so nothing changes until you pick a different option.\u003C/p>\u003Ch2 id=\"custom-tools-now-belong-to-each-assistant\">Custom tools now belong to each assistant\u003C/h2>\u003Cp>Custom tools used to be shared by every assistant in an account. They are now managed per assistant. Your support assistant can call your order lookup API while your sales assistant uses a different set of tools.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Each assistant can have up to 50 custom tools. Your existing tools have been copied to every assistant you have today, so nothing stops working. A short notice on the Tools page explains the change.\u003C/p>\u003Ch2 id=\"turn-scenarios-and-tools-on-or-off\">Turn scenarios and tools on or off\u003C/h2>\u003Cp>Administrators can now enable or disable a scenario or a custom tool from its card. Captain stops using it in conversations, but it stays in the list so you can edit it and turn it back on later.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>This helps when you want to pause a scenario after a promotion ends, or take a tool offline while its API is being updated, without deleting your work. Agents can see whether each item is enabled, but only administrators can change it.\u003C/p>\u003Ch2 id=\"test-changes-in-the-playground-before-you-save-them\">Test changes in the playground before you save them\u003C/h2>\u003Cp>The playground now has a test setup panel with tabs for scenarios, guidelines, guardrails, and knowledge. You can add a temporary scenario, guideline, or guardrail, or paste in new reference text, and try it in the chat without changing the assistant.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>When a test goes well, administrators can add that item to the assistant permanently with one click. Pasted knowledge is saved as a document.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Each reply also has \u003Cstrong>Run details\u003C/strong>, which show the scenario that handled the message and the tools Captain called.\u003C/p>\u003Ch2 id=\"captain-replies-and-suggestions\">Captain replies and suggestions\u003C/h2>\u003Cp>When a customer sends several messages in a row, Captain now sends one reply that covers all of them, instead of replying to each message separately.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Captain also keeps its replies within each channel's character limit. Long answers are no longer rejected by channels such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>FAQ suggestions are now written in your account's language, even when the source conversation was in another language. On self-hosted Premium installations, reply suggestions now search your documents and FAQs, the same way they do on Cloud and self-hosted Enterprise.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>You can find these controls under \u003Cstrong>Captain &gt; Settings\u003C/strong>, \u003Cstrong>Captain &gt; Tools\u003C/strong>, \u003Cstrong>Captain &gt; Scenarios\u003C/strong>, and \u003Cstrong>Captain &gt; Playground\u003C/strong>.
